[Solved] 3. June 6, 1944 – I’m in a bunker with Major Werner Pluskat when we notice thousands of ships approaching our beach. He asks me, “Whose ships are those?” My immediate reply is…

…1. What ships?
2. The Swiss Navy must be training again.
3. I’m guessing they belong to the Allies.
4. They’re probably fishing vessels.
Major Pluskat was commander of the German 352nd Artillery at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He ordered his troops to fire everything they had at the Allies until they ran out of ammunition. His phone call to German Headquarters was immortalized in the 1962 film “The Longest Day”.

I’m guessing they belong to the Allies.:
